The average Kensington and Chelsea home sold for £1,204,072 in August, down 13.8% in a year and the lowest since May 2013. Rents rose 3% to £3,739.

We reported June's flat average as £991,929, under £1m. Land Registry has since revised June up to £1,003,947. The correction and the July figures are below.

Homes worth £2m or more pay £2,500 to £7,500 a year from April 2028. Kensington's average terraced house is already above the line, at £2.37m.
